The GGOS Bureau of Networks and Observations (BNO)
The BNO (formerly GGOS Bureau for Network and Communications BNC) was formally established at the Fourteenth Meeting of the GGOS Steering Committee in December 2008. The BNO is hosted at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The Director of the BNO is Michael Pearlman, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
The current activities of the BNO are based on and continue the work of the GGOS Working Group on Networks and Communications, which existed from 2005 to 2008. This working group was chaired by Michael Pearlman.
The BNO will convene regular meetings with relevant experts of the GGOS Community. The first meeting took place in conjunction with the EGU on April 22, 2009 at the Technical University of Vienna. The presentations from these meetings, are available under the Activities section of the Bureau website.
The latest Status Reports about the Activities of the BNO were presented during the GGOS Coordinating Board Meeting in San Francisco in December 2014. The bureau's mission redefinition presentation was given to the GGOS Coordinating Board in San Francisco, December 2014.
